I purchased this adapter for two applications. Using the computer headset on a 2.5 mm telephone, which I am sorry to report it did not work that well with my Packet8 phone. It did worked well with a Polycom Soundpoint, therefore cannot blame the adapter.

Additionally, I used the 2.5 to 3.5 smartphone portion to connect a Blackberry to my aviation headset. It worked well too.

This is a very good solution, nevertheless be aware that depending on the phone/headset combination you may experience different performance.

The voice comes through loud and clear on both ends. Makes it very convenient to make calls using any wired PC headset. You can also easily attach a microphone to it and use it with the iPhone.

I have a PC headset that I wanted to try with my iPhone. This adapter works just fine. My goal was to be able to find a headset that can be used with windows down and sunroof open (and eventually with a convertible which i’m thinking about). Don’t know for a fact that a bluetooth couldn’t do it, but my thought was i’d need some sort of headset with a boom which would be closer to my mouth. Also thought if I could get a PC headset, I could use it with my PC too. This adapter works great with my PC headset. Sorry, I know it sounds more like I’m reviewing the headset vs the adapter. BTW: I ended up with the Logitech Premium Notebook Headset and it seems to work great with the sunroof open and windows down (as long as the wind isn’t blowing directly into the microphone). I tested by using the Sound Recorder on the iPhone. This headset also lets you turn one of the earpads off one ear (it’s actually against the law to cover both ears).

I purchased this adapter to be able to use my favorite computer gaming headset with microphone with my Blackberry Bold. It works as advertised and works well for listening to music and phone conversations.

I have a comfy noise cancelling PC headset because I’m always using Skype for my business. Because I’m on the phone all the time now, I wanted to use my computer headset with my new samsung smartphone. Instead of blowing another $100 on a headset, I bought this great little adapter. It saved me a ton of money and works perfect. Because it’s a dual use adapter, not only does with work with my smartphone, but it also works with my home phone that has a 2.5mm plug. There is no reduction in sound quality and everyone can hear me perfectly. This thing saved my life!
